On May 31, 2010, Glenn Williams passed away from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Glenn was a larger than life figure in Kingston, helping spearhead countless charitable drives, incredible promotions, and connecting the people of Kingston with local music.

To those who knew Glenn, he was simply known as “G”.

When a city loses someone as important as Glenn Williams, it’s important to understand who he was, what he did, and how we can continue his legacy.

To honour and celebrate Glenn, and to continually highlight the importance of supporting ALS Kingston, we wanted to help.

That’s why we are re-naming our K-Rock 105.7 studio to Studio “G” In Memory of Glenn “G” Williams.

What is ALS? ALS Canada describes it as “Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (also known as ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease, or motor neuron disease) is a disease that gradually paralyzes people because the brain is no longer able to communicate with the muscles of the body that we are typically able to move at will. Over time, as the muscles of the body break down, someone living with ALS will lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, swallow, and eventually breathe. ALS is not contagious. There is no cure for ALS and few treatment options for the majority of people living with the disease. Approximately 80 per cent of people with ALS die within two to five years of being diagnosed.”
